For 25 years, Jonathan has been woodworking. As a teenager,
he would carve beautiful birds with nothing more than a pocket
knife and a block of wood. After working in various avenues of
woodworking, he moved to Boston and graduated from
North Bennet St. School, where he received the
David Convissor Scholarship Award.
In 1994, Jonathan won the "American Woodworker's"
Excellence in Craftsmanship Award in the professional category,
competing with contestants from all over the world.
In 1996, Jonathan was commissioned by the Museum of
Fine Arts in Boston to make a presentation box for a medallion
that was presented to Jonathan Fairbanks, Curator of American
Decorative Arts.
